RETIREMENT CELEBRATION

of our Senior Pastor,

Richard B. Jones

and wife Beverly

Sunday, August 28, 2016

After serving our church faithfully for almost 18 years plus three decades in other churches, our Pastor retired from full-time ministry at the end of August, 2016. The celebration took place in Crystal Manor.

Pastor Jones preached his final sermon Sunday in the AM worship service.

At 1:00 p.m., all traveled to Crystal Manor for a delicious buffet-style meal and program.

Chick and Lillian Osborn were celebrating 70 years of marriage!

Deacons Dave Vicari and Jim Yost led us through the program.

Chairman of the Mission Committee, Dave Smith gave Mrs. Jones some valuable (tongue-in-cheek) advice about dealing with snakes in the area of Florida where they plan to take up residence. Pastor was presented with a special stick for holding the snakes at bay and Beverly received an electronic snake charmer to hang around her neck.

The church gave Pastor and Mrs. Jones a clock and monetary gift from the congregation

Pastor Jones expressed words of appreciation and Dr. Walter Coles, formerly of Elmer, gave an inspiring message. The closing hymn, "Great is Thy Faithfulness" was fitting not only for its lyrics, but also because it was written and first sung in 1923 a few miles from Elmer, in Vineland, NJ.
